2023 Stuff The Bus School Supply Drive

Stuff the Bus campaign is happening now to collect school supplies for kids in need across San Antonio and surrounding areas. Communities In Schools, in partnership with KENS 5 and H-E-B, is the non-profit organization behind this campaign. For more than 30 years, they have helped connect students and their families to needed resources like school supplies and school uniforms to more recent ones like counseling and emotional support.

Due to the efforts of many community supporters, thousands of local students are provided with the tools they need to be successful. School supplies are available to students year-round at over 170 schools across 13 school districts that Communities in Schools of San Antonio serves.

Here's how you can help Communities in Schools reach their goal for the 2023-2024 school year:

Click here to donate securely online through August 15
Donate school supplies or make a monetary donation at participating H-E-B stores starting July 24
Call the KENS 5 Donation Phone Bank at 210-377-8100 on Tuesday, July 25, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. to make a donation
Participate in Stuff the Bus Day events at participating H-E-B stores on Saturday, August 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Stuff The Bus School Supply Drive is one of city's largest school supply drives that serves thousands of under-served students and families. Many of these families are below the poverty line and cannot afford all the supplies their children need to start their school year. The funds raised through this event will be given to about 170 CIS partnering schools (elementary-high school) across 13 school districts to purchase supplies for any student in need at that campus. Your support helps to alleviate the stress of back-to-school expenses and allows students to focus on their education with the tools they need to be successful.
